Don – 3-5 year old male Border Collie Cross

Don is a 3-5 year old male Border Collie Cross. He is fostered near Norwich. Poor little Don has spent all his life in shelters in Romania. He was found as a pup in a hellhole public shelter in Braila where few pups survive. He was taken to the safety of a private shelter and snatched from the clutches of certain death. Sadly Don then remained unnoticed in the shelter until late this summer when we visited the shelter. He joined us in the UK shortly afterwards.

It’s been a struggle for Don to learn how to live in a home environment after only ever knowing incarceration. He has emerged as an affectionate and friendly little character who loves a fuss and a cuddle with those he knows well. He is still very inexperienced on the lead and will need ongoing practise at being out in the big wide world. There is already glimpses of enjoyment on his walks but still a high level of vulnerability that only time will heal.

Don mixes very well with other dogs but would also be okay as an only dog as he really does love his human family once he’s bonded with them. He is cautious around cats and would rather not look at them or acknowledge that they are present if he can help it. He would not be suited to a home with very young children or a rowdy loud household. Our adoption fee is £250.

The dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless they are too young). If you are interested please message or call between 9am and 6pm.
