Carlotta is a 3-5 year old female German Shepherd Cross. Lovely Carlotta is a light, tan short-coated Shepherd cross, with a black masked face. Carlotta was found abandoned and taken to one of the biggest pounds in the North of Spain in the beginning of 2017. She was a young dog then, active, sociable and affectionate, but she wasn’t lucky enough to find a home and years passed by.
In the last months, she couldn’t take life at the pound anymore and started eating less and less, feeling more stressed as days passed. She was noticed by a local rescue and in October 2020 she was taken out of the pound to a foster home, where she has gained weight and has learnt to be happy again. She needs a home preferably with other dogs and owners who can guarantee she won’t be left alone. She is a lovely all rounder with a gentle character and is friendly towards everything.
Carlota is absolutely loyal to people, very obedient, affectionate and loving. She is very intelligent and sensitive, a calm girl with a lot of love to give. She is sociable with everyone, dogs, cats, adults, small children.
Foster Report: Carlota is a 10 out of 10 dog and she has settled very well except for one issue: separation anxiety, as she doesn’t like to be left alone. She gets stressed when she thinks she will be abandoned again, and this results in the usual anxiety behaviour and she barks and cries. She needs to find a loving family that are home mostly and that will allow her to be with them and also at night time.
Other than needing constant company initially, she is a brilliant girl: she loves every animal and person she has met (although she can be wary of some men), she is very, very sociable. She has a medium level of energy and loves walks, she walks very well on the lead, she has been off lead in enclosed places and has a good recall. She loves to play with other dogs, although sometimes a bit rough! She avoids conflict with other dogs. She is very calm around our cats, she completely ignores them even when they hiss at her.
Carlota is calm, very obedient and loving. She is housetrained. She is steadily putting on more weight now that she is not stressing being in the pound.
