Pluto is a 5 year old male Great Dane cross Greyhound. Pluto came to the UK from Spain in 2018. He initially went to one rescued but was then moved to another rescue shortly after where he stayed for three years. We were recently made aware of him and offered to help as he had not progressed well in a kennel environment.
Pluto quickly showed himself to be a sweet natured boy who is just a little bit afraid of his own shadow! He mastered lead training very quickly though and niw enjoys his walks but does require a little reassurance when encountering anything new. He walks very nicely and perfectly to heal but is still wary of having the lead put on and taken off do will need practice and positive reinforcement training in this area.
Pluto gets on really well with other dogs and will require another dog in his new home to gain confidence from. He would like a companion that’s not too dominant though as he is easily bullied. Pluto is still quite jumpy and will therefore need a quietish home environment with no very young children.
Everyone who meets Pluto comments that there is something about this boy that draws you in and that makes you want him to like you. Despite his wimpiness he has an aura of dignity about him and when he is relaxed he really does love a cuddle and a fuss. Pluto fostered Brundall Norfolk.
Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
Please note that it is Safe Rescue policy that all dogs adopted from us must wear a slip lead to be walked for the duration of their lives. Too many dogs are lost from slipping out of collars and harnesses and many of our dogs are timid due to past ill treatment and likely to panic whilst out and about. It is absolutely okay to use these things additionally to slip leads but not instead of. We also request that extendable retractable leads are never used on our dogs. If you are opposed to slip leads, please do not enquire about our dogs as this is not negotiable. Thank you for understanding. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
