Lacy is a 4 year old female Poodle Cross being fostered in Gloucestershire in adult family home with dogs and cats. Lacy came into our care recently due to being given up by a breeder, she appears to have never been bred from.
She has settled into homing living very easily, a bit shy with people she does not know but once she knows you, she is such a loving little dog, she will wiggly her whole body with happiness when she is happy, she does this to the other dogs too who she adores.
A very easy to love little lady – she has been out in the car with me and will just lay quietly by my side, if working at the computer she will just laids at my feet. She is getting used to walking on the harness out on walks and just seems to soak everything up. She I think for the first is just loving life – it breaks your heart to see her coward sometimes but I think in time this will disappear completely as she is very determined to live life to the full.
She arrived with chronic ear infections which she has received treatment for and responded really well and they are nearly back to normal and she has attended the groomers and was good as gold.
She started her vaccinations last week and this week Lacy has now been spayed, had a dental because her teeth were in a terrible state so she is now recovering with the help of antibiotics.
She had a problem with her back leg and it has been diagnosed as a luxating Patella, she does not appear to be in pain presently, she has seen the orthopaedic surgeon and this does mean in the future it’s quite possible she could need surgery which is costly and also entails her having crate rest for 2 months so understand this will put a lot of people off this special dog.
But it’s not her fault it’s something that could have been fixed easily as a baby but as usual another dog let down by the breeder – she will stay with us as long as it takes to find her perfect home even if it means forever.
